PREY 2---20th Century is in the early stages of developing a sequel to the PREDATOR prequel which starred Amber Midthunder as a Comanche battling a Predator in 1719. Midthunder is talks to return for the sequel, and the plot is rumored to involve kidnapped cryo-frozen human warriors transported to a Predator game preserve to be hunted as in PREDATORS. Also, it would solve the mystery of LAPD Detective Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) and the Raphael Adolini 1715 flintlock pistol in PREDATOR 2.
PREY 2 is not connected to another 20th Century PREDATOR movie, BADLANDS, which is set in the future with PREY director Dan Trachtenberg returning.

JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX---the sequel's budget is reported to be $200 million compared to the original movie's budget of $60 million. Joaquin Phoenix's sequel salary is reportedly $20 million and Lady Gaga's salary is $12 million.

GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE---new sequel photo released of the Skar King.

WEAPONS---Josh Brolin is in negotiations to replace Pedro Pascal in the horror movie directed by Zach Cregger (BARBARIAN). Pascal left for THE FANTASTIC FOUR.

SUPERMAN: LEGACY---DC Studios co-head James Gunn commented on rumors his wife and PEACEMAKE star Jennifer Holland and co-star Freddie Stroma are in LEGACY after Gunn posted a selfie with Holland and Stroma, "With Freddie Stroma & @jenniferlholland showing them around the #Superman sets (no they’re not in the movie).”

UNCHARTED 2---Mark Wahlberg commented on the status of the sequel, "Actually, I just got a call today that they got the script in. I can’t grow a real beard and mustache, but they said, ‘Start growing your mustache. It’s gonna take awhile.’ I’d be interested to see what the story’s like, and where that adventure takes us. But I’m excited; I know audiences really loved the first one, so we’ll see.”

PLAYDATE---Alan Ritchson (REACHER) and Kevin James (THE KING OF QUEENS) will star in this action comedy movie about two stay-at-home dads and their sons who go on the run after getting caught up in a deadly conspiracy.

yeah, that is just awful, completely the wrong idea how to make a sequel,

PREY was a very good entry in the genre. A little too much Indian ninja'ing here and there, but still good. However, having had success telling essentially an unrelated hunting tale, endeavouring to "continue" PREY does not seem wise to me. I would rather they go with yet another new unconnected hunt.

That said, if that is the aim, we will see.

Compelled to agree. If they go with a smaller budget, they have a smaller guillotine hanging over their heads. I hope the budget doesn't mean another "bigger" superhero movie... good character and disturbing psychosis doesn't need 200 mil.

And will they get 200+ million in viewers for a psycho-killer study project? Is that a reasonable expectation? Silence Of The Lambs and Seven, okay, I guess maybe...

I'm usually fairly positive, but even I'm like "well that skyrocketed to indulgent bullsh*t pretty quickly." The original was an interesting film, but hardly a franchise tentpole.

Sequels used to be looked down on, with slashed budgets and lower returns expected.

Now it seems each film must beat the original.

These stupid salaries being paid need to stop.

Gates McFadden was a blight on TNG, and her insipid character with her zombie-like performance is one of the many reasons I loathe that show.

Most of the cast were dry and lacked character. Troy's long agonizing borrrrrrring psycho babble made me want to jump out of a 15 story building.

That was Maurice Hurley, he was one of the producers and he hated McFadden and he also wrote "Q Who" which introduced the Borg.

The day after Hurley left at the end of the second season, McFadden was rehired. Torme was a writer and he left because he didn't like the backstabbing and BS going on behind the scenes. The first two years was legendary for being a revolving door for writers and producers.

None of the characters were all that well defined until later on. Only a few were truly memorable. Gates was fine she just had nothing to work with. Marina was given annoying material until way later, but even still, she was mostly there to fall in love with the ambassador of the week or be the victim. All the best stuff went to Stewart, Spiner and Dorn. Sometimes Frakes got something good and Riker succeeded on his charisma alone.

I - loved - this show when it aired, but it's probably the most dated of them all at this point. It's often a dry slog after the 4th season as they fell into a pattern of the A/B stories and techno issues became the norm. They stopped exploring and did most of their time policing. The first two seasons were just weird, but they had energy. Seasons 3 and 4 were pretty much perfect, but then they kind of started that rut. Season 7 was wildly uneven. I almost never rewatch this show.

Did Jake Sisko ever hit one?

Avery Brooks had a tendency to go over the top, particularly after they allowed him to shave his head and be more "himself." He was a powerful performer, but like William Shatner, needed a strong director to keep him in check.

Nana Visitor started off really hyperdramatic but settled in over time. The series was most interesting when it delved into the affects of war on the Federation, but honestly, I never was comfortable with Star Trek as a war series. Sure, there was conflict and some space battles, but Trek shouldn't be about that. Over time, the ability to do convincing space battles on TV has taken over the storylines.

Enterprise, I agree, has aged extremely well. It's a much better series than it gets credit for. Other than the original, it's the series I revisit most often.

As much as I dislike much of TNG, I will admit that "The Best of Both Worlds" (and the subsequent "Picard recovers" episode) is pretty damned great.

I guess anyone can hit a "home run" once in awhile.

TNG had some amazing episodes. Yesterday's Enterprise, The Inner Light, Tapestry, Conspiracy, Darmok, The Defector, The Pegasus, BOBW, and others.

I'm actually okay with those salaries. 20 for Phoenix, 12 for Gaga... that leaves about ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY MILLION! Where the Hell is that going? Is there some skimming off the top going on here? Somebody's secret filch-fund? Organized crime payoffs?

Some journalists in the industry ought to investigate a breakdown of costs here.
