Low Carb Bbq Sauce is an easy way to add a kick of deliciousness to your meals. You can slather, dip or grill your favorite meals with this keto sauce as it’s just 1Net Carb a serving!
Summer is finally gracing us with her presence and something has just clicked in my bones. I JUST WANT BARBECUE SAUCE.
Just let me slather it on everything and eat it with a spoon. Mmk?
I’ve been preferring barbecue chicken pizza over regular pizza. Barbecue dunked chicken nuggets to buffalo chicken nuggets. All of it guys, give me all the bbq sauce.
I realized that we’ve got quite a few sauces and dressings we’ve shared over the years but somehow I’ve YET to share our barbecue sauce.
Now as I’ve said in the past I like being able to control what goes into my food. And while sugar free barbecue sauce is something that you can go out and buy I personally have troubles finding ones I’m content with the ingredients.
Don’t get me wrong if you are in a pinch and just need sugar-free barbecue sauce you can go and buy it but if you ever don’t want to make a trip or like me want a bit more control on the ingredients used… This is the solution.
Cue: The best smoky and tangy homemade low carb bbq sauce.
The ingredients to pull this together are actually quite simple. It does require quite a bit of spices (fair warning) to pull together this wonderful smoky and tangy flavor I love in bbq sauce but most of the spices you should already have on hand.
No Carb Bbq Sauce?
As time as gone on I’ve realized anything that says 0 Net Carbs probably is a little misleading and I see it often in labeling. When you end up dividing this recipe into Tablespoons it technically shows as 0Net Carbs because it rounds down. I did the deep crunching on this recipe in particular and it’s around .4Net Carbs per Tablespoon and therefore the calculator calls it zero. . . . .
My suspicions is that is the case with many of the 0 Carb sauces out there. So for that reason we increased the serving and perhaps making it a more reasonable measurement (at least I think so). More on that below.
HOW MANY NET CARBS ARE THERE IN OUR KETO BBQ SAUCE
1 Net Carb for 2 Tablespoons.ÂAs I mentioned above this is calculating the sauce to provide a bit more of an accurate depiction of what the carb count is. This calculation is without the optional ingredient, molasses. See below for that info.
Now onto the optional ingredient Molasses and how that can effect the carb count. Molasses I find really brings that home comfort barbecue sauce flavor to the table. I also understand that we have many different types of people following That’s Low Carb. If you are following Low Carb for example adding some molasses to this for the flavor can provide a unique classic flavor you might enjoy. You’ll have to decide for yourself if it’s worth the carb difference though.
2 Net Carbs for 2 Tablespoons if you are using the optional ingredient molasses. You can decide but I figured I’d leave it as an option.

Now all that is left for you to do is make some dishes that require barbecue sauce. This Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken using our low carb hamburger buns I think is next on my list.

Really good BBQ sauce! I didn’t have any liquid smoke but felt like the smoked paprika and chipotle peppers were smoky enough for my taste. I opted to not add molasses and instead added a teaspoon of keto maple syrup! It’s perfect. I really love this recipe. Thank you for sharing.
