Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC)will be taking on each other in the 35th match of the IPL 2024 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 20 at 7:30 PM (IST). It will be the first match of the IPL 2024 at the venue and both teams would be high on confidence given their current form.
While SRH have won their last three matches, DC have won their last two. DC have a total of three wins to their name in seven matches so far. On the other hand, SRH have four wins to their name in six matches. The 2016 champions seem to have a better team on paper compared to DC. Their batting order is sublime with all the batters being in good form. Their batting is brilliant and is the crucial factor for their success in the league so far.
However, there needs an improvement in SRH's bowling.Barring Pat Cummins, other bowlers have not been that good. DC have some good players in their lineup, including the likes of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ishant Sharma. Their current form and the home conditions evens out the chances of the match being one-sided towards the favor of SRH. Openers - Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma
At the top of the order, SRH has two aggressive batters. They are likely to continue with the same pair that has been successful so far. Travis Head smashed the fourth-fastest ton in the history of the IPL in his last game against RCB. The star batter has returned to form just before the T20 WC 2024 after suffering a loss of form after the ODI WC 2023. He would be key for SRH beating DC. If required, the Australian can roll his arms over and deliver an over or two with the ball.
Abhishek Sharma will continue to open the innings for SRH. The Southpaw has been a revelation for his side in the ongoing season. He strikes at over 200 in the ongoing season. The young batter can take the game away from the opposition in a matter of a few overs. Having played some cricket in Delhi in the past, he can adapt to the conditions well. Much like Head, Abhishek can be handy with the ball. The duo is arguably the best opening pair in the season so far.

Middle Order - Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abdul Samad
In the middle order, SRH have a couple of world-class batters with an emerging batter. Aiden Markram has gone unnoticed despite batting well, thanks to the domination of other batters in the lineup. If required, he can be handy with an over or two. Not to forget, he is a great fielder.
To follow him, SRH has the star power of Heinrich Klaasen, who is one of the best T20 batters in the world.The middle-order batter can win matches on his own. He is one of the most aggressive batters in the world in the last few years. When on song, he can dispatch both pacers and spinners all around the park. Klaasen has also been good with the gloves.
Abdul Samad has come of age in the ongoing season. After being inconsistent in the last four seasons, the emerging batter has consistently finished matches for his side. He can also be handy with an over or two, if necessary.

All Rounder - K Nitish Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed
SRH have some talented all-rounders in their lineup. Nitish Reddy made headlines for his knock against PBKS as the young batter had a brilliant outing against the 2014 runner-ups and singlehandedly turned the game in SRH's favor with the bat. The key for him is to perform consistently. He has bowled on a regular basis in domestic cricket. But in SRH, he has not bowled yet.
Shabaz Ahmed is another talented all-rounder in SRH. Over the years, he has been performing well for Bengal in domestic cricket. It is a good opportunity for him to excel at a level above. The southp[aw can hit blows lower down the order. With the ball, he can break crucial partnerships and help his side. He is an athletic fielder and known for grabbing stunning catches. SRH have some more options in their dugout like Marco Jansen and Glenn Phillips.
Bowlers - Pat Cummins, Mayank Markande, Jaydev Unadkat, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and T Natarajan (Impact substitute)
SRH have a good set of bowlers but they have not been up to the mark. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been smashed despite getting some swing early in the innings. He has been slightly predictable at the death. Jaydev Unadkat and T Natarajan have aided Bhuvneshwar well but have not been consistent with the ball.
Unadkat has bowled slower ones and bouncers well. But SRH have been carried by Pat Cummins in the ongoing season. His captaincy has been brilliant. The bowling of Cummins is the best he has had in an IPL season so far. He can bowl in the powerplay, middle overs, and death overs. The star pacer has bowled impactful spells on some of the flattest wickets. Furthermore, Mayank Markande can take wickets in the middle overs and be handy with his leg-spin bowling.
