Hazel Lee Cornwell, 94, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.
Hazel was born in Cherokee County to the late Nathan and Hattie Cook Stiles. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Bobby Cornwell, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Robinson and Ronnie Robinson; her daughter, Barbara Robinson; her brothers, Arvil Stiles, Marvin Stiles and William Stiles; and her sisters, Annie Timpson and Normy Robinson.
She is survived by her son, Paul Robinson and wife Brenda; her daughters, Mary Bradshaw of Georgia and Dorothy Martin of South Carolina; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Music was conducted by Bucky Kelly. Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Scott Martin, Ricky Martin, Josh Deese, Preston Graves, Bryan Phillips, John Pendergrass and Adam Sutton. Honorary pallbearer was Duane Patterson.
The family received friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, prior to the service.
