I created this adorable Unicorn Valentine Box template just for you! It takes only a few minutes to assemble, the design is all things unicorns, and you most likely already have the few supplies needed to make it.

DIY VALENTINE’S DAY BOX IDEA

How to make a Valentine’s box? A Valentine’s box (aka mailbox) can be as simple or elaborate as you would like. All you need is something to store the cards in, craft supplies, and a little bit of creativity.

For storing the cards, the easiest option is to go with a pre-made box, like a cereal box, tissue box, or that small box from Amazon you just received. But you can always get creative and construct one from scratch in any shape you want, like a rainbow or heart.

Then you’ll want some materials to make the box pretty and festive. Colored paper, stickers, ribbons, pipe cleaners, foam sheets, parchment paper, ribbons are all great supplies beautifying any old box, especially when you pair that with your child’s imagination!

How to Make a Unicorn Valentine’s Box

Besides the fact that these Valentine’s Day Unicorn Boxes are super adorable, they are really easy to put together! There are several other amazing unicorn valentine box tutorials out there but they’re more time intensive. I wanted to create this template for those of you who really wanted to make a beautiful special box for your kiddos but maybe needed a little direction or lacked the time to make it happen.

With this template, the hard work is done for you, the unicorn theme is established and all you have to do is assemble and let your kid embellish it if they want!

Unicorn Valentines Box Supplies

To make this magical unicorn Valentine’s Day box you will need the following supplies:

• empty tissue box – cube shaped boxes
• scissors
• clear tape / glue
• Unicorn Valentine Box template (link below)
• cardstock (to print the template on)
• any extra embellishments – optional

Instructions

Now that you have everything, let’s start creating your Unicorn Valentines Box.

1. First step, is to download (link below) and print the Unicorn Valentine template.

2. Cut out the unicorn template and fold on the doted lines. There are 3 pages of box coverings, the top and 2 two side pieces. How big of a hole for a Valentines box? There is a dotted outline on the top piece template for easy guidance in cutting out the hole for the cards and treats but feel free to make it larger if you need it to be.

3. First attach the top to the box by either using clear tape or glue.

4. Once the top is secured, take one of the side pieces and place it on two sides of the tissue box, tape/glue. Then take the remaining side and attach that to the other half of the tissue box.

And that’s it!

Personalize It

After the Valentine’s Box is assembled, feel free to encourage your little one to personalize the box to their heart’s content! Add fun embellishments to the box like sparkly foam hearts and stars, gems stickers, curly gift wrap ribbon, let your kid go to town making it unique and magical to them.

Just click on the link to download and then navigate to your downloads folder on your computer. The Unicorn template will be in a zip folder, so just double click on the file to open it.

I recommend printing the template on cardstock to avoid drooping throughout the Valentine party festivities. There are three pages in total to print, the top and two sides.
