How to Cut Bell Peppers

Here’s the most common basic method for cutting bell peppers.

  1. Slice a bell pepper straight down the middle with a large chef’s knife so that you’re forming four straight pieces. The ribs and seeds will still be intact in the center.
  2. Using the chef’s knife, slice off the top and bottom of the bell pepper.
  3. Pull out the bell pepper’s stem.
  4. Lay the bell pepper on its side with the skin down.
  5. Cut the bell pepper into thin slices.
  6. Turn sideways to cut crosswise if you need square chopped pieces.

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup cool water
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 cup beer

Instructions

  • Brown the sausages in olive oil and add water.

  • Simmer for 10-12 minutes.

  • Add the seasoning, butter, and onions and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Last, add the beer and garlic and cook.
